About us
What is Tide?
Tide is an investment office focussed on Danish and Nordic start-ups and scale-ups who can fulfil their potential through innovation and growth. We primarily invest from pre-seed through to series A. However, we are flexible to engage with unconventional structures - carve-out, turn-around, reconstructions - as we do not serve external LP's. Further, we have the opportunity to invest in later stages in certain circumstances.
We are serial entrepreneurs with an international track record, +500 employees, 3 Gazelle growth awards, EY Entrepreneur of the Year nominees, multiple exits and dozens of early stage investments in the Nordic ecosystem.

How do we engage?
Equity
We make direct, equity investments. Usually in a round with other early stage investors. We target companies with a proven business model and revenue stream but with untapped growth potential and the ambition to significantly expand their market share.
Co-founder
A well-described concept and world class founder-team with a clear business plan. This engagement requires a very concise description of the end-user market and profit formula.
Strategic Investor
Sometimes the traditional criteria of growth capital restrict a business. We are open to alternative structures where we can support a carve-out, buy-out or restructuring of a high-potential business.

Do You Invest in Venture Funds?
While we do not typically act as limited partners (LPs), we are open to investing in funds that offer strategic value.
What Are Your Focus Areas for Investment?
Our strategic focus lies in the energy sector, particularly in green transition initiatives, as well as in consumer-facing businesses (B2C) and consulting or agency concepts. Additionally, we hold interests in technology and artificial intelligence.
What Investment Sizes Do You Consider?
We invest between €100k to €1m, but have the opportunity to increase and syndicate for higher capital requirements.
What Is Your Investment Timeline?
We strive to provide initial feedback on all investment opportunities within four weeks.
Which Geographical Regions Do You Target for Investments?
Our core investment region is Northern Europe, with a special focus on the Nordic countries and Denmark. Nonetheless, we remain open to exploring investment opportunities globally.
Who Provides the Capital for Your Investments?
Tide functions as a private investment entity, capitalised by shareholders who are accomplished entrepreneurs with a wealth of experience in management buyouts, startups, scale-ups, venture investments, and business turnarounds. Our investment capital primarily stems from these areas, with the majority being allocated on a case-by-case basis. Often, we engage in syndication with other investors for funding.

With a wealth of experience in western down-stream markets – particularly the Nordics – we support and evolve the acquisitions economy and overall commercial strategy.
